Prepping Your Lips

Do you have dry or chapped lips? Do you have issues with your Lipstick not lasting, requiring you to do touch ups almost every hour? Are your lips discolored and not pink and plump?

You are not alone…..Lips need to be exfoliated on a regular basis. Weekly exfoliation can keep your lips pink, moist and plump. Your favorite Lipstick will last alot longer and the color of your lipstick will Pop!!!!

Exfoliation removes dry, dead skin from your lips and uncovers nice, soft, pink lips underneath.

There are many ways to exfoliate your lips. You can purchase Lip exfoliants from the store or you can use items already in your home or pantry.

The best way to exfoliate lips is with a soft toothbrush. Gently rub your lips with a toothbrush to remove dead skin cells and dirt from your lips to reveal soft, pink lips.

You can also use a wet washcloth dipped in warm water. Gently rub your lips in a circular motion for a few minutes to remove the dead skin cells and dirt from your lips. You will notice lighter, pink lips underneath.

Homemade scrubs can also be used to exfoliate your lips:

*Oatmeal mixed with a little Olive Oil-Massage the mixture on your lips for several minutes and let it dry, then wash it off.

*Baking Soda mixed with water and a splash of Olive Oil-Dip toothbrush in the baking soda mixture and gently rub on your lips to reveal clean, beautiful lips underneath. (Olive Oil acts as a moisturizer for your lips)

*Powdered sugar with a little Olive Oil and Lemon Juice-Dip Toothbrush in the sugar mixture and gently rub on lips, then wipe off with a warm washcloth. (Lemon Juice acts as a natural bleach that cleans the lips)

*Warm Honey mixed with Powdered Sugar and Lemon Juice-Gently massage on Lips for a few minutes then wash off with a warm washcloth. (Honey acts as a moisturizer on the lips)..If you have chapped lips, then only use the Honey without the lemon, as lemon can burn chapped lips.

*If you have chapped lips, the best way to exfoliate and moisturize your lips is with Vaseline or Petroleum Jelly applied with your fingers or a soft cloth. These items will not only exfoliate your lips but will also heal chapped lips.

Reminders:

*Do not use a hard toothbrush or rough cloth to rub chapped lips.

*Apply moisturizer after exfoliating your lips.

*Exfoliate just once or twice a week to prevent irritation to your lips.

These are just a few of the ways you can exfoliate your lips to reveal soft, pink, moist lips. Your Lipstick or Lip stain will glide on smoothly and last alot longer with clean moisturized Lips.
